| i recognize that no one has posted here in a while. i really pray that social justice isnt just a fad, but i feel like it could be. WE MUST DEVELOP THE LIFESTYLE THAT CARES, NOT JUST DO SOMETHING HERE AND THERE. so, in lieu of this, i am posting a copy of a ways to build a lifestyle around God's heart for all peoples. there are a few different roles (5) in which we can taylor our lifestyle according to who God has created us, and what role we have in the war...
GO.
Be a Global Lifer. Go long-term to an unreached people group to plant the church, or join other specialized ministries (i.e. setting up a business for the purpose of giving church planters creative access).
Take an Exposure Trip. Take a short-term exposure trip to an unreached region to gain vision for yourself and fuel for mobilizing others to go.
Take Joshua Walks. Get a group of friends together to take a prayer walking trip overseas among an unreached people group.
Join the Reserves. Sign up for an extensive short-term trip to help serve long-term workers. This will better equip you to be an advocate to the church at home for the needs of those perishing in darkness.
SEND.
Give your Finances. Financially support a home front or frontline worker.
Spend a Day for Eternity. Fast and give one days wages to support a missionary.
Send Care-packages. Send care packages with goodies for the frontline worker (i.e. cds of their favorite artist when new ones come out, sermons from their favorite preacher, books by their favorite authors, their favorite candy).
Send Correspondence. Make a habit of writing letters to the frontline workers encouraging them with Scripture and letting them know they are not forgotten.
Be a Ring-leader. Get others involved in supporting the same frontline and home front workers.
Be an Event Coordinator. Prepare a church event (BBQ, desert time) where your frontline worker can testify of what the Lord has done, and also encourage others to support their ministry and missions in general.
PRAY.
Pray for the World. - Purchase an Operation World and go through the daily prayer points. - Sign up to receive updates via email from WIN International prayer points.
Co-Labor in Prayer. Pray for agencies and long-term workers serving among a people group you are interested in. If you don’t have a people group you are interested in yet, start with a country that Jesus has put on your heart and go from there. Learn about all the people groups in that area. Pray for those working among these peoples, and if there are no workers, pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send laborers. Don’t discount yourself as being one of these people.
Adopt a Corporate Lifestyle. Start a prayer meeting that meets once a week to pray for revival in your community and for unreached peoples.
Launch a Concert of Prayer. Establish a Concert of Prayer in your church, campus or community to encourage others to pray.
Organize a 24 Hour Prayer Chain. Start a 24 hour prayer chain to pray for a people group or country, as well as revival in the Church.
Be a Learner. Read books on prayer to help you pray more and encourage you in your own times.
WELCOME.
Be Hospitable. Find an international community in your area and seek to make yourself available to serve them in whatever capacity. You can help them with their English, show them around town, or host them at your house.
Be an English Tutor. Get involved with internationals through conversational English programs (typically located near college campuses).
Be an International Liaison. Make yourself available to a local college to pick up, host and befriend internationals when they arrive here in America.
Be a Host. Look to host an international student in your home (especially for the holidays).
Be an International Learner. Seek out international students and learn about their culture. They enjoy getting a chance to share about the culture they know and really love. It also helps them with homesickness.
MOBILIZE.
Be a Teacher. Start a Bible Study focused on teaching others God’s Biblical Basis for Missions, His Glory, Christ’s Compassion, Prayer and Revival.
Be an Inspirer. Get others involved in two or more of the above (Go, Send, Pray, Welcome).
Be a Coordinator. - Coordinate a Perspectives in your area. - Coordinate a World Pioneers Conference. - Coordinate a Heart of God Seminar.
Be a Leader. Lead others in teaching, inspiring and representing.
Be a Representative. Become a representative for your favorite missions agency or missionary to mobilize others to join their team.
For His Dreams among the lost and dying,
matt

| i came across this article this morning
18 million children is more people than the number of people that live in Florida. what if the US partitioned Flordia from the US just to house AIDS orphans from Sub-Saharan Africa?
and i wonder too about those other 60,000 people that are estimated to die each day among the unreached, who have no chance of being saved by Jesus - unless we who call ourselves followers of Jesus do something (as a generational movement).
its not just another cause, its an emergency - the reason we are meant.
keep praying.
